This course will benefit:
 Anyone working in a
supervisory position where food is prepared, cooked or served, processed or manufactured who wish to progress their knowledge and career development.
Those who operate in a supervisory role in the workplace need to be aware of their responsibilities with regards to food safety. Most food poisoning outbreaks can be traced back to the failure of those responsible for communicating and implementing hygiene standards.

These qualifications ensure that supervisors are aware of the legislation applicable to food safety and how best to communicate the required standards to employees.

Length of the Course:

We deliver this course usually in two days – one day per week and then on the third week the exam is taken.

The Course Examination:
This qualification is assessed by multiple-choice examination, externally set and marked by Highfield Qualifications.
Completion of 45 questions within 90 minutes.
To pass the examination successfully achieve a pass mark of 66% (30/45).
A  distinction is awarded if a pass mark of 80% (36/45) is achieved.
The qualification is graded pass/distinction/fail.

This is a multiple choice test and techniques are discussed as part of the course.
On successful completion of the test each individual will receive a Highfield Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Manufacturing.

Progression Opportunities:
On successful completion of this qualification, learners may wish to continue their development by undertaking one of the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 in HACCP for Manufacturing
  • Level 4 Award in Food Safety in Manufacturing
  • Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety in Catering
