NEW - Level 2 Award in Chemicals and Other Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
The benefits of controlling the chemicals identified as a possible hazard need to be controlled to meet the Health and Safety Act 1974 (HASWA1974). Organisations are required to take steps to prevent anyone becoming ill or being injured as a result of contact or eposure to hazardous substances.
One of the principal responsibilities of employers is to assess and periodically review health and safety risks. Risk assessment is critical to the control and maintenance of a healthy and safe working environment.

Risk assessments completed to control hazardous substances are referred to as COSHH assessments.
Successful completion of this full day course will enable attendees to understand:
- The range of hazardous substances in the workplace.
- The range of legislation covering hazardous substances.
- Methods of indentification of hazardous substances.
- Sources of guidance available for the safe use of hazardous substances.
- The range of control measures available for the safe use of hazardous substances.

- Attendees are required to complete a multiple choice 30 question exam assessment.
- Attendendees achieving 20- or more will pass the exam and receive a certificate.
