Meet the Team

Intrinsic Training Solutions have been delivering sucessful NVQ programmes since 2001. Philip Wadsworth is the Managing Director of the company in partnership with his wife Patricia Wadsworth.

At Intrinsic Training Solutions we are the specialists in the sucessful delivery of the NVQs and short training courses in various working environments particuarly Food Manufacture NVQs at Levels 1,2 & 3. Working in partnership with employers and further education colleges to deliver the training and NVQs in the the Meat and Food manufacturing Industry.

We have an experienced team of assessors & tutors to deliver these programmes who have all worked in the food and meat manufacturing industry.

However, we also currently deliver training and NVQs in the closely related industies of Distribution and Cleaning.

Intrinsic Training Solutions also specialise in the delivery of the NVQ in Health and Social Care at levels 2 & 3 with the extensive knowledge and experience of our team of expert's benefiting the NVQ candidates and employer's we are working with in this sector. 

Intrinsic Training Solutions are approved by City and Guilds to deliver these NVQs.

We offer the possibility of 100% Train 2 Gain funding for each employee starting an NVQ through the train to gain funding available from the Government.

We also offer a wide range of short training courses to compliment the NVQ e.g. Food Safety in Manufacturing, Catering, Retail and Care Homes at Level 2.

Many NVQ programmes we start are repeated due to the success and positive working relationships with employers. In Food Manufacturing these include, Weetabix Ltd, Solway Foods, Giles Foods, Meadowbrook Bakeries, Saxon Valley Foods, Hotel Chocolat, Hilton Meats,  and Fresh-Pak.

In the cleaning industry we deliver NVQs at Peterborough, Stevenage (Lister) and Welwyn (QE2) hospitals.We also deliver the cleaning in Food Premises NVQ.

We have a history of successfully delivering NVQs in these working environments.

We also offer the added benefit of the possiblity of 100% Train 2 Gain funding available for each canadidate worling towards an NVQ level 2 or 3.

Our Team

Philip Wadsworth:Managing Director

  • Began working in the Meat Industry in 1975 within the retail & manufacturing sectors of the industry.
  • After obtaining various qualifications in the meat industry and many years experience, Philip became an assessor in 1996
  • Philip is now responsible for managing and verifiying the NVQ programmes. 
  • Responsible for administering the requirements of an approved centre of City & Guilds and Meat Training Council, Food & Drink qualifications and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Awarding Bodies. 
  • Delivers the Food Safety, Health & Safety and HACCP courses at all levels which are certificated by C.I.E.H.

Has until recently worked with City and Guilds as an External Verifier for the Food and Drink Manufacturing and Cleaning and Support Services NVQs. In the past worked at Bedford College helping to start-up and develop Catalyst the services to business division of the College. Therefore developing a knowledge of the requirements of the colleges when dealing with the funding available.

Patricia Wadsworth: Health and Social Care including Infection Control

  • Began her nursing career in 1978
  • Experienced in working with the elderly, general nursing and has specialised in Infection Control since 1997
  • Head of Infection Control at Northampton Hospital.

Jane Corby: Assessor, Internal Verifier and Programme Manager

  • Worked in the food industry since 1998
  • Experienced Assessor in the Food industry and A1 assessor qualification
  • Internal Verifier and Manager of NVQ programmes 
  • Delivers Food Safety.

Jane manages, delivers courses and NVQs in Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Wendy Beresford: Assessor, Internal Verifier and Programme Manager

  • Experienced Assessor for NVQ's in Meat and Poultry and Food Manufacture.
  • Delivers the A1 Programme to new assessors
  • Internally Verifier and Manager of NVQ programmes

Wendy assesses, manages, delivers courses and NVQs in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire. 

Mick Dawkins: Assessor

  • Specialises in the Meat & Poultry Processing NVQ's
  • Long history of working in the Meat Industry

Health and Social Care

We are able to offer the Health & Social Care NVQ level 2. Pat Wadsworth is leading the delivery of this NVQ in this important vocational area ably supported by a team of part-time healthcare experts.

Working Partnerships

We work with self employed assessors and in particular have a strong working relationship with Phoebe Nyoni of Explicit Solutions Ltd.

We are always pleased to discuss job opportuities with either qualified assessor's, Internal Verifier's or frrom people who have until recently or are still employed in the working environments where we deliver the NVQs, who are interested in becoming an assessor.
